We’re still in shock after the finale of Hannibal Season 2 (seriously, if you’re old enough and haven’t already, you NEED to watch this show) and pacing the floor for season 3 and this is good news to tide us over.
Gillian Anderson (yes, I still have that crush since The X-Files S01E01) is now a series regular as Dr. Bedelia du Maurier and will be a big part of the show’s third season.
Her character was Hannibal’s shrink in the show and drifted in and out of the seasons, but with things changing radically this year, she has now been bumped up the pecking order. And that’s just great news.
IGN report: “Season 3 will open up following a fugitive Lecter and du Maurier in Europe in what creator Bryan Fuller described at Comic-Con as “a pilot for a new series starring Mads Mikkelsen and Gillian Anderson.”
Series producer Bryan Fuller said he “was going to be exploring [du Maurier] quite a bit in the first half of the season. There’s a whole Bedelia/Hannibal arc that I’m very excited about.”
