It’s not totally out of the blue, but Starz has officially pulled the plug on the Ash Vs Evil Dead, meaning that when the season three finale airs on April 29th, Ash Williams and the gang will not be returning.
This saddens us greatly.
“Ash vs. Evil Dead has taken audiences on a wild ride for three seasons thanks to the fantastic performances and creative efforts of Sam, Bruce, Rob and the entire cast and crew. We are proud to send the show out with a bang…and a splat,” said Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming for Starz.
Well, that’s it, we’ve got to say goodbye to the legendary Bruce Campbell… for now. Let’s not forget that only a few weeks ago, the actor said that, should the series be cancelled, we may finally get another live-action movie starring him and the deadites; and Ash reappeared at the end of the reboot Evil Dead, so there’s a good chance we could see the Evil Dead movies all tied together on the big screen, let’s hope Kelly and Pablo come back if that happens.
But for now, the news is bleak.
“Yo, shebitch! let’s go!”
Ash Vs Evil Dead has been the ride of a lifetime. Ash Williams was the role of a lifetime.
I will always be grateful to Starz, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and our tireless fans for the opportunity to revisit the franchise that launched our careers. Thank you! 😎 pic.twitter.com/oNmTopS1Ab
