Well, anyone who has seen the mid season finale of Arrow will know that Dinah Laurel Lance, who died last season, seemed to be alive and well… although how is anyone’s guess.

But now it seems that we haven’t seen the last of the resurrected Black Canary, played by Katie Cassidy, in the show.

While the character’s death last season was a shock, many believed that she would be back – hey, it’s a comic book show, right? – and after her appearance in a dream scene during the massive Invasion crossover event, it felt like maybe she really was gone.

But it looks like no, her story is far from over.

Executive producer Greg Berlanti talked to CBR about the character and revealed that there was much more to come: “We made a deal at the end of that season to bring her back for a bunch of episodes. Katie is a part of the fabric of the show. Because the show, like a comic book, can move in different ways, and characters go and come, everybody that’s ever been a part of the key and core ensemble has always had a place at the table for our show. There’s the capacity for her to be [in all four shows]. At this moment, she’s in three of them.”

There seems to be a thought based on the clip below the Laurel in the midseason finale may not be the same one that died last season… but that remains to be seen.

Arrow returns Wednesday, January 25th.
