With the news that the Disney+ Hawkeye series is set to begin filming next week and that Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova from the Black Widow movie is looking set to join star Jeremy Renner on set (here), we’re waiting for any bit of info we can get.

And now Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld, who has been long-rumoured to be Kate Bishop in the series AKA the new Hawkeye (here).

Many thought that here most recent post on Instagram was hinting at her starting filming because of the inclusion of cupid’s bow and arrow: “see u in ✨11✨ days, 24. 🏹.”

However, it turned out it was simply the star counting down to her 24th birthday… however, the fact that it was liked by directors of the series Bert and Bertie – actually Amber Finlayson (Bert) and Katie Ellwood (Bertie) who directed Amazon’s Troop Zero and Showtime’s Kidding – had us reckoning it was more than a mere coincidence.

And, well, it was (continues after post):

Now, while we were all thinking we’d jumped the gun, new images have appeared online of Steinfeld in New York filming with Jeremy Renner… welcome to the MCU Kate Bishop:

The Hawkeye series will star Jeremy Renner reprising as Clint Barton/Hawkeye as he moves to San Francisco and takes Kate on as his protégé. The series is believed to be heavily inspired by writer Matt Fraction’s run on the title.

The Disney+ series does not currently have a release date.

UPDATE: The star has been photographed filming on the streets of New York:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
