Is Gemma Atkinson in the running to be Greg Berlanti’s Supergirl?

With everyone at FTN geeking out on a weekly basis over Arrow and The Flash, we’re biting at the bit to hear who is going to be cast as Supergirl in producer Greg Berlanti’s upcoming (possibly same universe) CBS series.

However, we have to be honest, we’re really not treating this as very likely (though sourcing the image above was… educational (Ed)) as it was reported by The Sun newspaper and because Atkinson seems a little random and, at 30, she’s probably a bit too old too. But still.

The paper writes: “Gemma is a huge fan of comic books so this is something she’d jump at. It will make her huge Stateside.

“She said next year will be her best yet whatever happens. If she gets Supergirl it will be amazing or if she begins working on Emmerdale that will be great too.”

Right, so the Hollyoaks star will either be Kara Zor-El or, you know, be starring in Emmerdale.

I must say, my money is on Emmerdale. But I have been known to be wrong…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
