Oh how we love Patrick Warburton here at FTN. We loved him in Rules of Engagement. We love him in Family Guy and, yes, we, em, liked him in The Tick.
The first season of the live-action series with Warburton in the blue antennae, but it seems that, according to People, he could be set to come back as the crazy superhero thanks to Amazon.
“The cult-classic series is based on a comic book by Ben Edlund and was first brought to television as an animated series that enjoyed three seasons of success in the mid 1990s. In early 2012, Fox canceled Warburton’s live-action version (which also starred a pre-Lost Nestor Carbonell) after just nine episodes.”
They are reporting that Warburton has already signed on with Amazon and Sony to play the part again with Edlund producing and writing.
We’re still a little dubious about this but aas long as Patrick Warburton is still employed we’re happy…
UPDATE:
Ben Edlund, creator and writer of The Tick, has tweeted: “Yes for now suffice it to say the dream of a new live-action Tick is being pursued with vigor #bringbackTheTick”
Here’s the first episode so you have a taste if you missed it first time around:
