Well, we suspected it was happening for ages… or maybe we just hoped, but either way, Flash and Supergirl are crossing over!

Yes!

CBS’ Supergirl will and The CW’s The Flash, will meet on March 28th, CBS have announced!

While we don’t know how Grant Gustin‘s Flash and Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl will meet, we suspect that it will be something speed-force related and we’ll find out that Supergirl exists on another earth rather than ours. While we would love for her – and, by default Superman, to exist in the world of Arrow, Flash etc, we’re happy that it’ll happen in whatever way it can. But it’s all speculation at the minute.

Now, can we just get Tom Welling as Superman, please?

Anyway, we’re positively giddy about this news.

“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl,” Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, who are executive producers on both series, said in a statement.

“We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out.

“And finally, thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”

Oh and that’s the same week as Batman V Superman’s release… how cool is that?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
