Well, we’ve been fighting for it for a while now and it has happened at last… Young Justice has been renewed for a third season!

Warner Brothers Animation has officially announced that the third season of the series has begun production and promises “new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes.”

At the minute we have no release date or network but we’re excited because it’s happening and, as someone who jumped on late, this is one of the most enjoyable superhero shows around: “The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us,” said Sam Register, President of Warner Brothers Animation and Warner Digital Series.

“We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.”

The show’s original producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman are back to guide the show.

So there you have it guys, the series was left on several cliffhangers and now we’ll get a resolution… just make sure you watch it, ok? It’s be a long road.

Are you glad to see Robin, Kid Flash and the crew returning? Let us know…

Oh, and here’s a new poster:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
