As we have been reporting for a while, there’s a big push to get DC’s animated show, Young Justice back on our screens and we know that Netflix have an interest in making it happen.
Well, now we have an update from the show’s showrunner, Greg Weisman, stating that he has indeed had conversations with both Warners and Netflix about bringing the superhero series back to screens for a third season. Yay!
However, talks aren’t enough and Weisman points out the series was paid for by Mattel on the back of toy sales and, sadly, the toys just weren’t selling so, despite it being a hit viewing wise, it was pulled.
So, therefore, Weisman says the show must come back on the understanding that it will be judged on how many people watch and not how many Robin figures sell.
Therefore, he says in his interview with Kirblog – which you can watch below – that for the show to have a chance of returning we should watch it like crazy on Netflix (which we can’t in the UK for the record), order the show on places such as iTunes and to get the comics on platforms like Comixology.
Oh and he says use the hashtags #KeepBingingYJ and #BuyYJBluRaysDVDs if we’re talking about the show on Twitter.
So there you have it, Young Justice Season 3 could happen… but it’s up to us to make it happen. And we might have to rent it and buy it to make it happen.
