Arrow recurring bad guy John Barrowman, who plays the villainous Malcolm Merlyn, has revealed that he really wants to continue his character’s story… in a comic.

Chatting to CBR the actor revealed  that he and his sister have been trying to get chatting to  DC Comics’ Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns about the ongoing Arrow comic: “I would love to do a Merlyn comic written by myself, who plays Merlyn. I think that would be totally awesome because I know this man inside-out.”

Barrowman added that, on the show itself he has input into the character: “We do get to discuss things, and I know Andrew [Kreisberg] and Mark [Guggenheim] both have been fans of mine since Doctor Who and Torchwood, so they listen to me.

“I love this genre. I know it. My sister and I have written a Torchwood novel. We have done three children’s fantasy novels. We know about this stuff, so they love to hear about my opinion. I get to say things that I’d like to do, and sometimes they’re put in.”

Arrow airs on Wednesday night on the CW.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
