Aw, man, but this is very, very awesome news for DC fans…
As we already know, the upcoming DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the no-holes barred spinoff from Arrow and The Flash, is set around time travel as Rip Hunter assembles a team to fight the evil of Vandal Savage throughout time; and we’d be liars if we didn’t ponder what DC heroes and villains may be met during the show’s run… because let’s be honest, the DC universe is pretty vast.
How we never thought of Jonah Hex is a mystery to me now, especially since he’s just been confirmed for the show’s 11th episode by executive producer Marc Guggenheim: “Ever since we decided that ‘Legends’ would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West,” he told Variety.
“But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply must include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television.”
No word on casting yet, but keep your eyes right here, folks.
Jonah Hex has been the star of a number of long-running comics, most recently the New 52 title “All-Star Western.” The character was created by John Albano and Tony DeZuniga and debuted in 1972’s “All-Star Western” #10.
“Legends of Tomorrow” debuts on January 21.
