SHIELD’s finest, Nick Fury and Peggy Carter AKA Samuel L Jackson and Hayley Atwell, believe they may yet return to the MCU

While the MCU tears on with Luke Cage, Agents of SHIELD and Doctor Strange, there are a few fallen heroes… but not all heroes stay forgotten.

Avengers: Infinity War won’t begin production until November, at Pinewood Studios’ enterprise in Atlanta. However, at a press show for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Samuel L. Jackson has revealed that there is still a place for SHIELD in the larger MCU and not just in the TV Universe: “Yeah! For sure, definitely. Why wouldn’t there be? There’s some way of fixing what they created, and hopefully somebody has that going on or Nick Fury is out there – wherever he is, probably hanging out with Jules and walking the world – figuring out what happened and how it got to that particular place.”

We know that after Civil War and with Agents of SHIELD having the agency re-instated, the MCU on the big screen has to embrace it soon, so we’re hoping to see Jackson back kicking ass as Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD very soon.

Meanwhile the future of Peggy Carter still looks uncertain.
Her character’s dead and her series is cancelled but in an interview while promoting her new series, Conviction, Hayley Atwell has said that she would come back to the role: “I think they would have figured something out in terms of making a special, or waiting until we finish this season, and then we do something else with another network, perhaps. All I’m saying with that is, it’s still a much-loved show for the people involved in the making of it, and we know that the fans, it has a special place in their hearts. I would be very happy to go back to her if she became available.”
Carter carved a very special place in our hearts in the shape of the lovely Hayley Atwell and we hope – and believe – that we haven’t seen the end of her yet. Even though she is dead now. But when did that ever keep a good comic character down?
