While we are all pacing the floors for Daredevil’s arrival on Netflix this weekend, showrunner Steven S. DeKnight has been telling fans to keep eyes and ears open while watching the show.
Easter eggs – no, not that type – will be abundant in the 12 episode series, he says: “There are a ton of Easter eggs in this series.
“Some will be very obvious – a reference to the Battle of New York – and there are Easter eggs that are so obscure that I didn’t know what they were. Often times we need a sign in the background, and we always try to use those opportunities to dig into the Marvel universe, so Megan Thomas Brander, one of our Marvel people, we would send that over to her and say, ‘Hey, we need a sign out here. What do we got that would be good?’”
“And she’d send back a list of like ten and I’d look at those, and I’ve read comics all my life, and I look at those and go, ‘I don’t recognize any of these!’ So there are some Easter eggs that are really for the hardcore fans and there are some that other people will recognize.”
So if you’re a really comic fan, we’ll want to know what you spotted…
Daredevil stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio and Rosario Dawson and will debut on Netflix on 10 April 2015.
