Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross returning to the MCU?

October 15th, 2019 by Marc Comments

Another rumour that, if we’re being honest, would make a lot of sense for you all tonight.

Word is that the She-Hulk series on Disney+ could see the return of two big characters from the Hulk mythology… one who hasn’t been seen since Edward Norton handed over the big green legacy.

Yes, Liv Tyler is apparently returning to the MCU as the love of Bruce Banner’s life, Betty Ross and she’ll be joined by William Hurt as Thadeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross – Hurt has, of course, bounced around in the MCU since The Incredible Hulk, so this isn’t a massive surprise – in fact he’ll be next seen in the Black Widow movie.

But the possible inclusion of these two could be very interesting to the overall story.

Fans of the comics will know that Thunderbolt becomes Red Hulk in the comics in an effort to replicate what happened Banner – could we see him take on Hulk and She-Hulk in the series?

And as for Betty, well, she was the original love interest for Banner and now that Natasha (Black Widow) is dead, could she re-enter his life?

Put a big ‘maybe’ on this for the time being, but honestly, it would make sense.

Thoughts?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
