With the movies, Netflix Shows and Agents of SHIELD all seemingly unstoppable, it’s hardly a surprise to know that pretty much everyone wants in on the MCU.

The latest name added to the list is Hulu who are bringing Runaways to the small screen with the help of Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage, Marvel Television and ABC Signature.

At the minute the order is for a pilot but a full-season is definitely the hope.

Created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, the Runaways comics feature a group of teenagers who discover that their parents are part of an evil crime organization.

Written by Schwartz and Savage, Marvel’s Runaways will tell the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe – their parents.

Schwartz said: “I’m a long-time fan of Runaways and couldn’t be more excited to bring Brian and Adrian’s characters to life.”

Savage added: “Josh and I can’t wait to get to work for Marvel and Hulu.”

Jeph Loeb, EP and Head of Marvel Television said of the show: “We’ve known the Runaways‘ story would make great television and being lucky enough to have Josh and Stephanie write and produce the series is nothing short of remarkable.”

It’s certainly a fresh direction for Marvel… and one we’re looking forward to seeing. We hope it is part of the MCU but can stand as its own thing too.
