Marvel looking for an Alison Brie-type actress for She-Hulk? UPDATED: Brie addresses rumours

February 26th, 2020 by Marc Comments

With it looking like Marvel will be starting their Disney+ She-Hulk series pretty soon, we may finally have an idea of the type of actress they are after.

Mind you, it may all just be wishful thinking.

Word is that Marvel are looking for an “Alison Brie-type” for the role.

Now, for those who don’t know, Brie is a star from shows like Community and Mad Men and is funny, talented and very beautiful… all which epitomise who the character of lawyer Jennifer Walters AKA She-Hulk should be.

Actresses such Gina Carano, Ronda Rousey and Stephanie Beatriz have all been bandied around for the role, so Brie is a bit of a left-field name.

The character in the comics was treated by her cousin Bruce Banner for an illness with a serum similar to what created the Hulk and, well, it’s obvious what happen next.

As I said at the start, there may be nothing to this, but anything with Alison Brie starring has my attention…

UPDATED:

Brie has addressed the rumours, saying that she doesn’t really use Twitter and she didn’t even reaslise it was a thing: “I didn’t realize it was such a trending thing, but I woke up to a lot of Instagram posts of side-by-side pictures of myself and She-Hulk.

“Which I just thought, ‘cool.’ Then that quote about an Alison Brie-type. Seriously, I found it very exciting because for years I’ve auditioned for the Anne Hathaway-type or the Zooey Deschanel-type. I was very flattered to be my own type for somebody else.”
