Marvel Studios is gearing up to begin filming on Agent Carter, with an leak revealing the show’s supporting cast.

Reuniting Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter with Dominic Cooper’s Howard Stark, the show is set in 1946 as Carter and Stark work together on covert operations prior to the formation of S.H.I.E.L.D. The supporting cast has been announced by as:

Deputy Director Roger Hooley: Peggy’s boss, a hardworking, principled older agent. Hooley is apparently bothered by ongoing problems in his personal life as well as the challenges posed by his professional life.

Agent Jack Thompson: polar opposite of Dooley, he doesn’t take kindly to women in the workplace. Fit and he knows it, he wants Dooley’s job and is determined to prove himself.

Edward Hutchins: a professional agent facing a significant problem: duplicity. He’s lying to his wife about his highly classified job.

Daniel Sousa: war hero, deeply honourable, everything Jack Thompson wants to be. He walks with a leg brace, but finds office politics to be more difficult than his injury.

Outside of the agency, we have Angie Martinelli. An automat waitress, Angie dreams of being a singer. She’s a tough yet compassionate woman who is smart and loyal and may well be Peggy’s anchor to the real world.

Filming is scheduled to begin in August, but to whet your appetites this poster (above) is set to appear at SDCC:

Agent Carter will begin screening in January 2015.

Dave was born at an early age to parents of both sexes. He has been a self-confessed geek for as long as he can remember, having been raised through the 80s on a steady diet of Doctor Who, Star Trek, Red Dwarf and (sigh) Knight Rider. Throw the usual assortment of Saturday morning cartoons into the mix and we have something quite exceptional: someone with an encyclopaedic knowledge of utter tosh; a love of giant robots and spaceships fighting; and the strange desire to leap tall buildings in a single bound while wearing his underpants over his trousers. The death ray is currently in the works and one day you shall all bow to him, his giant space station and fleet of funky orange space shuttles...
