Well, we guess this is good news for fans of Stephen King and the Mr Mercedes TV series as it has officially been renewed for a third season.
The news broke tonight on the show’s official Twitter (below) and, don’t get us wrong, there are no bigger fans of Brendan Gleeson than us lot here at FTN, but we’re wondering what is coming next fo the series as, well, it seemed all tied up last season. Anti-climatically, sure, but finished all the same.
In fact, fans of King’s trilogy of books – as I am – will know that Hodges’ (Gleeson) story is over now and is Brady Hartsfield (Harry Treadaway’s), so what’s the plan?
Well, while nothing has been confirmed, and we don’t want to get too spoilerific here, it seemed to us that, should there be a third outing for the show, it could stray waaaaaaaaay off course from the books and perhaps give us Gleeson as the villain.
But we’re just pondering…
Whatever happens, we’ll keep you posted but, for now, Hodges is coming back and we’ll take that as a cautious win.
