Netflix bringing iconic comic Bone to series

November 6th, 2019 by Geralt of Australia Comments

The independent comic series Bone by Jeff Smith has just been picked up by Netflix for an animated kids series.

Bone was an irregularly released comic series that spanned 13 years from 1991 to 2004, the 55 issue series was about the Bone cousins featuring the greedy Phoncible P. “Phony” Bone, cigar smoking Smiley Bone and, last but not least, the Fone Bone.

Smith is ecstatic with the news having this to say.

“I’ve waited a long time for this, Netflix is the perfect home for Bone. Fans of the books know that the story develops chapter-by-chapter and book-by-book.

“An animated series is exactly the way to do this! The team at Netflix understands Bone and is committed to doing something special this is good news for kids and cartoon lovers all over the world.”

Growing up with the comics myself, I’m looking forward to seeing if they can do it justice, and we can only hope that it gets off the ground properly unlike the other tries with Warner Bros throughout the years, until then we just need to wait for the Bone to drop.

Stay nerdy folks.
