The video game franchise Street Fighter on course for a new live-action mini-series. Called Street Fighter: Resurrection, it’s being created by the same people who bought us Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist.

The team is being led by Joey Ansah, who has previously worked on action films such as The Bourne Ultimatum and Snow White and the Huntsman, both of which are getting sequels in 2016.

The synopsis is as follows: “Iconic heroes Ken and Ryu are reunited to face their deadliest threat yet. The long-presumed dead Charlie Nash is back, and is targeting legendary Street Fighter champions for mysterious reasons. Now it’s up to Ken and Ryu to uncover his lethal plan and discover if he is ally or enemy. Keep your friends close, and your guard up.”

Mike Moh and Christian Howard (above) will reprise their roles as Ryu and Ken.

The series will premiere in March 2016 and it will consist of five episodes that will tie into Capcom’s new video game, Street Fighter V, which is set for release on February 2016.

My name is Jonathan Snelling. I’ve been a movie fan for a long time now and last year completed a degree in Film and Television Studies at Aberystwyth University. It’s hard to choose a favourite film but I’ve always been a major fan of Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga. I’m really interested to see how Ben Affleck does in Dawn of Justice as it's set to be an incredible film. I’m usually willing to see any genre but naturally some more so than others.
