Oscar Isaac is Marvel’s Moon Knight and could there be another major Marvel role in the pipeline for him?

October 30th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Well, this is exciting news all round.

Marvel have been trying for some time to cast their Moon Knight for their planned Disney+ TV series and it looks like they have found him… in the shape of the annoying handsome Oscar Isaac.

The Star Wars star is reportedly very close to signing the deal that will have him portray Marvel’s answer to Batman on the streaming service.

In the comics Moon Knight’s real name is Marc Spector a mercenary/soldier who becomes the human embodiment of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon. His powers include strength and agility coupled with his military knowledge and detective skills, so this could be a cracking character to take to the screen.

The series will be directed by Egyptian film-maker Mohamed Diab who directed the acclaimed 2016 movie Clash and it will be showran and co-written by The Umbrella Academy’s Jeremy Slater.

Isaac is, of course, no stranger to Marvel having played Apocalypse in the X-Men franchise a few years ago under 20th Century Fox.

However, the Marvel connections don’t end there, as the star also played Spider-man 2099 in Sony’s Into the Spider-verse animated movie in 2018 and, if the rumours I’m hearing are true, Sony are looking him to portray the character in an upcoming live-action movie too.

So, could Isaac be set for a major Marvel gig at all three studios? Only time will tell, but it looks like we’re getting him as Moon Knight in the near future whatever happens.

I want to hear your thoughts on all this, gang…
