Look, we liked Prison Break… we did, honest. The first two or three seasons were a lot of fun, but surely there’s only so far you can run with a series called, you know, Prison Break?

Guess not…

Yes, we’ve been reporting on it a while but now we have confirmation that the new season has been ordered to a full series at FOX.

Not surprisingly, given that they were the stars before, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are both back (hey, we love them as Captain Cold and Heatwave in The Flash, so this better not interfere!) as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. We’re also hearing Sarah Wayne Callies and Robert Knepper will be back as Sara and T-Bag.

The series is set to film in Spring with either nine or ten episodes in the new season.

“The story unravels on an international landscape — it’s not a domestic. We open on a very international contemporary-feeling story.” said Fox co-chariman/CEO Dana Walden.

The series is confirmed to take place AFTER all the previous seasons, specials etc, which isn’t what anyone expected – if you watched it, you’ll know why.

Glad to see Prison Break back? Let us know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
