This may strike casual fans of comic book films as somewhat shocking, but the character of The Punisher has had three films based around him. This is particularly strange, when you consider the number of big name superheroes that still have to make their way to the big screen.

In all honesty though, it does make sense. Of all of the superheroes, The Punisher, on paper, is the easiest to adapt. After all, he’s not really a superhero, so much as a vigilante. The most famous Punisher stories are usually the ones where he has no significant crossover with the superhero community.

However, as many fans of the character will tell you, The Punisher has not had the easiest time making the page to screen transition. However, of all of the films, the most recent entry, Punisher: War Zone has developed something of a fan base.

With all of this out of the way, Lexi Alexander, the director of Punisher: War Zone, is preparing to return to the superhero vigilante genre through Arrow. Lexi’s experience in both stunt work and karate training does make her an ideal candidate to take up the directing mantle for Arrow episodes. Who knows, with mixed reaction to Arrow this year, maybe she is the hero the show needs.
