Remember the news that there was an Agents of SHIELD spinoff focusing on Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, who play Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter? And then, remember it was cancelled (here)? Well, here’s why…
ABC entertainment president Paul Lee reveals that the spinoff would have picked up from the second last episode of Season 2 where SPOILERS Bobbi was kidnapped by Ward. However, he added that fans weren’t happy at the idea of losing Morse and Hunter: “We absolutely love those characters on SHIELD, We think SHIELD hit its creative stride this year.”
However, Lee adds that it isn’t off the cards altogether: “We thought the right thing now is to leave them on SHIELD,because SHIELD is so strong at the moment.”
The two-hour season finale of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
