RUMOUR: Gina Carano to return as Cara Dune in The Mandalorian Season 4

October 6th, 2021 by Marc Comments

It looks like, if a new rumour is to be believed, the Star Wars fandom is set for some good news when it comes to The Mandalorian Season 4.

A few weeks back Doctor Who fans got news that caused celebration when it was announced that Russell T Davies, the man who brought the series back in 2005, would be returning to helm the 60th Anniversary Special and future episodes (here) – this was big news because it gave hope that The BBC was actually listening to the fans after the disastrous three series under showrunner Chris Chibnall and now it seems that the bosses at Disney/Lucasfilm may have listened to the fans and may be bringing back Gina Carano as Cara Dune in the hit show’s fourth season.

Carano was fired over some social media posts last year and it was one of the most divisive things – and there’s been many – to happen in recent Star Wars and many fans were unhappy that her character, as well as the actress, was just being written out of the show… Dune had proven to be a big hit with fans as it was a well written, kick-ass female, something Disney has struggled with when it comes to Star Wars.

But now word is that showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are insistent that the character returns to the show after the now-filming third season in completed.

Carano was rumoured to be getting her own show, Rangers of the New Republic, but plans for it were scrapped after the whole social media debacle.

We’ll be following this rumour very closely as we loved Dune in the show and would be very happy to see her return.

Interestingly, we have previously heard rumours that the show, after the third season, may take a time jump in the storyline and could even have its name changed at some stage… could this be when we see Cara Dune return?

Let us know your thoughts, gang.
