Interesting news for Scream fans tonight as it seems we’re possibly getting a new Scream TV series only this one will be very different from the MTV one we got a few years back.
The Scream series was set in a different reality than the movies and followed the residents of Lakewood who, like in the movies, was in the grip of a masked killer; it ran for two seasons and ended on a bit of a cliffhanger before, in 2017, giving is a six-part TV event (here) that was a separate story and brought back the original Ghostface mask with, presumably, the idea being that they would eventually return to Lakewood to conclude that story.
But they didn’t. And now it seems that they never will.
According to Beyond the Mask, one of the top Scream news channels on Youtube, below, a new series is in development only this time it’s set in the main Scream reality and, according to the report, will not feature any of the stars from the main movies but will run alongside those and compliment the main story. It is likely going to be a Paramount+ series.
And that’s all we have.
Honestly, given how big a hit the latest movie was and that we’re already getting the sixth movie, it would make sense that Paramount are looking at making the Scream universe a bigger, more immersive one… games, comics and books next? I’m here for it all as I love the Scream franchise. A lot.
Thoughts?
I wnt to hear them all, guys.
