We’ve had two seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil and one of Jessica Jones so far so to say we’re looking forward to the arrival of  Luke Cage is something of an understatement.

And he’s set to have a big presence at SDCC this year, it seems.

Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer Joe Quesada drew the poster for Cage whose series will kick off streaming on September 30th.

“There’s always great pressure with superhero posters,” Quesada says.

“You’ve got one shot to encapsulate a character with a pose that’s provocative and that you hope will someday be iconic.”

Mike Colter had a fairly significant role as Luke Cage last year on Jessica Jones Season 1, so he’s already pretty familiar: “Mike gives Luke a smouldering strength,” says Quesada.

If you’re set for SDCC the poster will be available at the Marvel booth from July 21st – 24th.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife.
