SDCC 2017: WATCH: Black Lightning gets welcomed into The CW fold in affectionate new video

July 22nd, 2017 by Marc Comments

We all tune in weekly to Arrow, Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow and next year we’ll have a new hero too… Black Lightning.

The newest series from The CW set in the DC Universe has been welcomed into the food at SDCC with this really cool trailer that focuses on the other four shows before getting to the newest additions.

Also, featuring panels from the comics and how they line up with the shows, it makes s appreciate just how awesome it is to have a shared universe on the small screen that we can jump into every week.

Based on the DC character created by Tony Isabella with Trevor Von Eeden, Black Lightning centres on Jefferson Pierce, a man who hung up his suit and secret identity years ago, but returns to the fold after his daughter, Jennifer becomes hellbent on justice.

The series was first announced as in development last September with plans for it to air on Fox. That has changed however and we will now see the character joining the likes of Supergirl, Arrow and The Flash on the network.

Cress Williams (Black Lightning), Nefessa Williams, China Anne McClain and Christine Adams all star.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
