SDCC 2018 – Lex Luthor and Superboy coming to Titans ‘eventually’

July 21st, 2018 by Marc Comments

With everyone at SDCC – and everywhere else – still talking about that Titans trailer (here) we’re getting more news still coming in.

Namely that Lex Luthor and Superboy are coming. Probably in season 2.

Now, we’re also hearing that the shows are not all related – we know Titans and Doom Patrol will be but as for Stargirl, Swampthing and Metropolis? Who knows.

Except, if Lex is coming to Titans, wouldn’t be a good idea to tie Lex into both shows. The same Lex, obviously. Also…  there’s rumours that because James Wan is making Swamp Thing then it may be part fo the DC Cinematic Universe. But that’s another post.

Anyway, so, Superboy and Lex. What’s the deal?

“I pitched [Dan DiDio] the Superboy/Lex Luthor thing – which we’ll get to [on Titans] eventually,” said DC creative boss Geoff Johns last night.

Johns’ comic story saw Superboy AKA Conner Kent AKA Kon-El, is a clone of the combined DNA of Superman and a human… guess who the human is? Yup, Lex.

This led to Superboy considering turning to the darkside but thankfully he saw reason.

Could the character David set to appear in Titans Season 2 be Superboy? Decide for yourself:

David is a 20s-something Caucasian male with dark hair who would guest star in the 13th episode, which is the season 1 finale. “David” is described as a powerful individual who is merciless, so much so that he has recently unleashed chaos to the people who have been keeping “David” as a prisoner in a mysterious lab. When we find “David”, he will have recently have escaped this lab. Whoever we see in the role would have a series regular option for consecutive seasons of Titans.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
