SDCC 2018 – WATCH: Trailer arrives for DC’s Titans series PLUS Two big DC Characters confirmed for the show

We’re officially in SDCC land now guys and for the next three days we’re going to be inundated with awesomeness.

And now, we have the trailer for DC’s new series Titans, based on the Teen Titans.

And, honestly, it’s… ok?

There’s a lot of potential in here and, from what we know so far, we’d bet all the footage in the trailer is from the first episode so there’s not much story in there.

Dick Grayson – Robin – resents Batman training him to be a weapon so steps out to create his own legend. As, em, a different weapon?

Hence, we suppose, THAT line in the trailer. Which we’re not dying about.

Still, Raven looks like she’s going to be pretty great and we don’t see much of Starfire or Beastboy in there but what we do see looks pretty spot-on comic book wise.

In related news at the SDCC DC panel Geoff Johns confirmed Jason Todd and Donna Troy AKA Robin/Redhood and Wonder Girl will be in Titans, played respectively by Curran Walters and  Conor Leslie. Universe building, indeed.

Anyway, check it out and let us know your thoughts…

Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
