SDCC 2022: WATCH: Anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead gets trailer

July 22nd, 2022 by Marc Comments

I’m not going to lie, I gave up on The Walking Dead a long, long time ago but based on the this new trailer from DCSS 2022, I might have a good reason to get back in to it.

A trailer for new anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead has arrived and, based on the cast alone, it looks like it’ll be unmissable.

The new series arrives on August 14th and will be six one-hour standalone adventures in the world of the dead and it’ll visit new and familiar characters.

The stakes are high in each story, pushing new, indelible characters with relentless, life-threatening choices and situations as we get to see the apocalypse through different eyes, discovering more worlds, mythos, and mysteries of the Walking Dead.

But look at this cast! Olivia Munn, Samantha Morton, Terry Crews, Parker Posey, Anthony Edwards, Poppy Liu, Jillian Bell, Loan Chabanol, Embeth Davidtz, Jessie T Usher, Daniella Pineda and Danny Ramirez! That’s a heck of a line-up for any show, never mind a zombie one!

Showrunner and executive producer Channing Powell said: “These are one-offs. They’re little movies. You’ll be caught up the moment you come in.”

You have me attention Walking Dead… and that’s saying something.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
