SDCC2019: Meet The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths villain… The Anti-Monitor

July 23rd, 2019 by Marc Comments

So, bit late on this one, but from SDCC 2019 we have the reveal of the big bad from this year’s highly-anticipated crossover of The CW’s DC TV shows… Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The villain will be played by LaMonica Garrett – who played The Monitor in last year’s Elseworld’s crossover – and is… The Anti-Monitor, who you can see blow thanks to show runner Marc Guggenheim on Twitter.

The character is a near-godlike entity in the DC universe who controls antimatter and is the enemy of The Monitor who likely will return and be also be played by Garrett again.

This event will see the character from Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and more – Brandon Routh returns as Superman and Burt Ward is retuning as… hopefully Robin – there’s really no limit to just how deep into the DC universe this crossover could go.

Anyway, are you excited? I know the Arrowverse shows can be a slog sometimes, but the now annual crossover events are usually unmissable TV.

“Crisis on Infinite Earths” will air across five nights of programming in late 2019 and early 2020.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
