So last night we ran the story that FOX may be close to bringing an X-Men TV series to development (here) and now we have some new details on what the show may be.

The series will be written by Burn Notice creator Matt Nix and word is that FOX, 20th Century Fox TV and Marvel TV are all excited by what they’ve read so far and are keen to get it to being a reality.

Here’s the details:

The untitled series, which had a put pilot commitment, focuses on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. The show appears particularly timely, dealing with the plight of minorities in society.

Nix exec produced with Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, plus Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.

This certainly sounds promising and, along with Legion, it looks like the X-Men have a bright future ahead on the small screen as well as the big one.

Are you excited for this? Let us know…
