Ah, dammit!

Some bad news tonight for Arrow fans as actor Stephen Amell, the man behind Oliver Queen AKA Arrow AKA Green Arrow has revealed via a post to his fans that next season will be his last outing as the frontman in The CW’s Arrowverse.

While we have to say it’s not a total shock, given that the Elseworlds crossover event at the end of last year seemed to hint at Oliver sacrificing himself in this year’s upcoming Crisis event.

That said, it’s still bad new as Amell and Arrow changed a lot of how we see comic book TV shows today and it arguably gave us the biggest TV universe of anything on TV.

Amell revealed that Season 8 later this year will only be Ten episodes long, with 22/24 the normal run.

So, what do you all say? Will he go out like a hero? Are you glad he’s gone or would you have liked him to stay on for another few years?

Let us know your thoughts about Amell departure and if you think this will change the Arrowverse for the better or worse.

UPDATED:

Amell published a rather emotional goodbye on social media after the official announcement wherein he confirms it was his idea to leave as he wants to be with his wife and child more and he also hints that – if you’ve ever watched the Arrowverse shows you’ll know what he means by saying it may not be the end of Oliver Queen altogether.

We’re guessing we may see another show step up after Arrow, leaving Queen a possible cameo dow the line in the other shows.

Watch and decide for yourself:

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
