Stephen King’s Castle Rock series cast continues to impress

March 3rd, 2018 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

2017 was a busy year for Steven King’s already bulging bank balance what with IT smashing it at the box office but 2018 is currently looking a bit quieter for the Master of Modern Horror with only Hulu’s Castlerock as the only production on the slate.

Produced by King and JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, the show will see familiar King characters from his back catalogue cross paths in a small fictional town in Maine.

Bill Skarsgard, who knocked it out the park as Pennywise in the aforementioned IT, is already confirmed for the show and we are now getting word that one of his fellow cast members will also been joining the series.

Chosen Jacobs  is set for a recurring role and will play Wendell Deaver, the son of Henry Deaver (Andre Holland). Jacobs played Mike Hanlon in Stephen King’s It and will reprise his role in It: Chapter 2

Others already cast in Castle Rock include Sissy Spacek, Chris Peles, and Jane Levy

I love Stephen King and am currently going through his back catalogue of short stories on audiobook on the way to and from work  (if you get a chance read The Ballad of the Flexible Bullet, it’s amazing) and have been excited for Castle Rock since the show was announced. Let’s hope it’s up there with Carrie, IT, The Shining and Misery in the King canon and not floating listlessly like Tommyknockers, The Mist and The Langoliers.

From Stephen King and Executive Producer J.J. Abrams, Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.
