Yet another classic Stephen King tale has been added to the ever-growing list of movies and TV shows in production.
His young adult story, The Eyes of the Dragon has been picked up by Hulu – the people currently making Castle Rock.
I remember reading the 1984 novel when I was in secondary school and I ripped through the whole tale in one day because King writes it as one, big, fluent adventure and it’s masterfully done.
However, the interesting thing is that with Amazon filming The Dark Tower, things will get a little complicated as both tales feature King’s villainous Flagg character, so we expect they will both be played by different actors here.
The LEGO Movie’s Seth Grahame-Smith will pen the pilot and become the show runner too; he had this to say: “I am so excited to be working in the world of Stephen King with Hulu, which has such a terrific track record with Stephen King adaptations.
“The goal for this series is to feel unlike any Stephen King adaptation before, with this rich underlying source material, and the only true fantasy book he wrote that has kings and swords and princesses. We will honor the spirit of the book and the legacy.”
If it’s King and it’s well done then I’m definitely on board for it… what say you all?
