We reported last week that Superman was set to appear in the new Supergirl when she moves over to The CW but now it looks like a Luthor is heading to National City too.

TVLine are reporting that casting is currently under way for five new characters for the show, including the sister of Superman’s greatest enemy: “Lena Luthor, who will be in the 25-35 year old range, arrives in town to get out from under the shadow of her infamous brother. She’s described as sexy and smart and determined to get what she wants. But what does she want? That remains unclear.”

As for the other four? Well, we have Nick Farrow, a “brash leading man, looking to make a name for himself in the news world but the question of whether he can leave behind his former selfish and hedonistic ways will constantly arise. In hanging out with Kara, the hero in Nick might finally come out.”

Then we have The Doctor, the diabolical female leader of Project Cadmus who uses her surgical skills to implant prisoners with alien technology, ; Snapper Carr, a veteran journalist appointed by Cat to remake the news division by going old school and the comics-inspired Maggie, an out and proud detective for the newly formed Science Police, which deals specifically with metahuman and alien threats.

We’re really excited to have Kara/Supergirl come over to The CW and we’re giddy to see that universe expand.

Are you excited? Do you think we might see Lex himself? Let us know your thoughts…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
