Well, it looks like the Witches are back as The CW confirm they are taking the Charmed reboot to pilot.
Yup, the new series will be reimagined by Jane The Virgin creator Jennie Urman and will be a “fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series.”
Once more, the series will focus on the Charmed sisters but the adventure will find them at college this time and therefore will be, presumably, more teen-drama like. We’re hearing that it may be set in the 1970s but we can’t confirm or deny that.
Along with Charmed, The CW is also working on an original series called Dead Inside and “would follow an underachieving beat cop who, after surviving an explosion that killed her hotshot detective big brother, starts seeing his ghost, flipping their sibling dynamic on its head and allowing her to truly live her life for the first time. They work together to help crime victims both living and dead, and figure out the unfinished business keeping his spirit on Earth,” according to Variety.
It will be produce by Scrubs and Spin City’s Bill Lawrence and written by NBC’s Dracula writer Katie Lovejoy.
Looks like The CW plans on bringing the entertainment and keeping it all delightfully nerdy.
