One of the things in The Flash Season 1 that had us giddy – and there were plenty – was the inclusion of Gorilla Grodd, the psychic, hyper-intelligent Gorilla created by Harrison Wells.

And there, after the reveal of Gorilla City in the series (see video below) we figured we’d seen the last of him – although we hoped not.

And it seems that, while not in the immediate future, we will see the big story of Gorilla City possibly played out on the show.

At the TCA 2016 Winter Press Tour Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg said that Grodd won’t be back season 2 as he is being held back for something much, much bigger: “I would liken the Gorilla City thing to Ra’s al Ghul,” Kreisberg said.

“You know, you hear about ‘the man from nanda part’ in [Arrow] Season 1, and ‘the man who showed Malcolm the way,’ and then you met Nyssa, then in Season 3 you met Ra’s. So, it’s a long-term thing.”

So buckle up, guys, it’s coming…

The Flash returns Tuesday, January 19

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
