Well, here we go again. Merely hours after the news of a Buffy reboot (here) we now have news of another reboot…
Yes, The Greatest American Hero is getting a new series at ABC with a fresh lick of paint and gender as this time it will be about a female hero.
The role was originally played by William Katt (above) but this time will feature Meera, an Indian-American woman from Cleveland “whose talents include tequila drinking and karaoke and not much else. Then some aliens entrust her with a super suit to protect the planet, and the world has never been in more unreliable hands.”
It has a pilot order already in place.
The original ABC series ran from 1980 to 1983 and tells the story of a teacher who gains superpowers when he is chosen by aliens to be earth’s new superhero protector.
So there you have it, The Greatest American Hero is coming back… wonder will Buffy be played by a man this time out?
Let us know your thoughts, gang…
