Ok, we’re just a little fatigued with all this reboot, remake, rehash nonsense right now.
So imagine our joy to have to report that the latest remake is a TV Adaptation of one of our all-time favourite movie series, Lethal Weapon.
Yes it seems that nothing is safe (like, as Robocop, Point Break, Big Trouble in Little China and Ghostbusters fans we didn’t know this already) as the classic Mel Gibson and Danny Glover movies are set for the small screen.
And Damon Wayans, star of The Last Boyscout (which, in fairness, we’re big fans off too), has been cast in the role of family man – and police man – Roger Murtaugh; the role was made famous by the legend that is Danny Glover in the films.
McG will direct the pilot at Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Pictures made the original movies: When Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs suffers the loss of his wife and baby, he moves to Los Angeles to start anew. There, he gets partnered with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans Sr.), who, having recently suffered a “minor” heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life.
There’s no word yet on who will play the lead role of Martin Riggs which was of course Mel Gibson’s signature role for many years.
So there you have it… and… we’re done.
