Tom Felton bows out of Flash Season 4 as Danny Trejo and others join up

Ok, first the bad news and we really hope this isn’t right!

We’re hearing that Tom Fenton (who will always be Draco Malfoy) will not be returning for season four of The Flash as Julian Albert.

“At the close of season 3, Julian was still a member of Team Flash, but with Barry now trapped in the Speed Force, and the show jumping ahead at least six months, it appears that Julian has left the team. The character was missing from the new season 4 footage in the recently released trailer (here), which was shown at Comic-Con, an event the Harry Potter alum also didn’t attend.”

Of course this doesn’t mean he won’t return at some point but we’d really accepted Julian as part of team flash, so this is not welcome news at all.

Ok, in other news…

It looks like the series has added some cool new additions to the cast this season too.

Danny Trejo – yes! – will be appearing this season as Breacher, a bounty hunter from Earth-19 who also happens to be father to Gypsy, played last season by Jessica Camacho.

You may recall as while back that rumour was that Trejo (below) was to play Lobo in some corner of the DC universe (here). Giving that Gypsy and Flash’s Cisco have a ‘complicated’ relationship, we may see the Machette and From Dusk Til Dawn star in a recurring capacity. And we’re totally ok with that!

But not for nothing, but we think he’d kill it as Lobo!

In other news The Thinker/Clifton Devoe has finally been cast. It’s been known for a while that he was set to be the villain this season and now we have a face to put to the ‘metahuman with a mega mind who embarks on a season-long battle with The Flash that pits the ‘fastest man alive’ against the ‘fastest mind alive.’

The 100 star, Neil Sandilands, has been cast in the role of the villain who plans to alter anything he believes is wrong with humanity.

His comicbook sidekick, The Mechanic, will be played by Eye in the Sky star Kim Engelbrecht and is described as “a highly intelligent engineer who designs devices for Devoe [she’s] the truest of true believers who’ll stop at nothing to help him implement his plan to fix humanity.”

All change next season, then.

Trejo should definitely still be Lobo though.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
