Sorry Twin Peaks fans, it appears the sequel series to the cult classic TV show is no more.

This comes from WonderCon, where several have tweeted about how the show has been shut down by Showtime.

“Breaking news out of WonderCon: Showtime has apparently pulled the plug on the new Twin Peaks TV series. No word yet as to why.”

“David contacted cast members today to inform them Showtime pulled the plug.”

“I’ve got bad news. No official word yet, but it looks like the Twin Peaks on Showtime deal is dead. But remember, Twin Peaks will never die!”

While Showtime and others haven’t confirmed this, it wouldn’t make sense it not being true with so many saying it’s not coming back.

UPDATE!: Ok, so after reports came of Twin Peaks being dropped by Showtime, more reports came out saying it wasn’t cancelled. HOWEVER, series creator and writer David Lynch has been confirmed to not be with the sequel series anymore.

He himself has stated that the show is not cancelled. HOWEVER, one has to wonder whether fans will want the sequel series without Lynch at the helm. And if the fans won’t watch…the show may be officially cancelled sooner rather than later.
