You may remember a while back we reported that DC planned to bring a sit-com-type show called Powerless to Pilot with NBC (here), well it is going ahead and has cast its first big name, join in actress Christina Kirk.

The series will focus on an insurance company who looks after scenes of massive destruction in a world full of superheroes. It will be an single camera workplace show. Bascially The Office in a world of superheroes.

And the first person tapped to star is Vanessa Hudgens. The High School Musical and Springbreakers actress will play Emily Locke, “an insurance claims adjuster who loves her job because she gets to help people, Emily likes to fly under the radar and just get her work done. She finds herself increasingly exasperated by the disruptive antics of the various Super Heroes that proliferate in her city.”

Powerless is being written by Ben Queen (A to Z), who will exec produce alongside Michael Patrick Jann, with the latter set to direct the pilot.

The series will be 30 minutes per episode and will join the DC TV Multiverse of Gotham, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.
