Walking Dead TV series has a plan for the next 7 years?

June 12th, 2014 by Marc Comments

So, The Walking Dead comic book continues to storm through the comic charts and has just passed ten years and is currently knee-deep in a game-changing story called All Out War, but how long will the TV series run if it continues to be successful?

Appearing at the Produced By panel at the PGA at the weekend, reports Indiewire, Walking Dead producer David Alpert talked about the comic story: “I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what season ten is going to be. We know where season 11 and 12…we have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we’re lucky enough to get there.”

Season 12?!

The issue is, will the series deviate from the source material or will it try to run alongside it for the most part? Will Rick still be the star – as in the comics – that far down the line? Is it possible to stay on the comic track as it – mostly – has so far? Or will it become necessary to bring in new characters and go off the tracks completely?

Only one way to know… keep watching.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
