WATCH: Audition clips and first filming on Marvel’s Daredevil

July 10th, 2014 by Marc Comments

Daredevil is well under way filming in New York it seems.

The first clip below is of a young Matt Murdock screaming “I can’t see!” presumably just after the accident that takes his eyesight in the streets of NY.

Although the crew were saying it’s a show called Bluff (as in Blind man’s….?), it’s pretty likely this is the man without fear’s origins we’re seeing.

The videos below it are auditions from the casting of the movie and feature Matt’s dad presumably comforting his newly blinded son – it’s worth noting that here is dad is a baseball player, not a boxer like in the comics. Although with a casting call recently for boxer-like actors, it’s pretty likely this will change in the series itself. The last video seems to be some sort of enforcer/business man. We’ll let you all speculate..

To say we’re excited isn’t nearly expressing it properly…

“Marvel’s Daredevil” follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

Marvel’s first original series on Netflix is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (“Spartacus”, “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer”, “Angel”) and Drew Goddard (“Cabin in the Woods,” “Lost,” “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”, in addition to writing the first two episodes of Daredevil), along with Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Smallville,” “Heroes”).

“Marvel’s Daredevil” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
