The BBC just revealed a new teaser for the second season of Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor Who and no-one noticed or, if they did, no-one is too bothered.
Dropping during the U20s Six Nations, it’s been revealed that the new season will drop on Saturday 12th of April.
Returning to fight to stay on-air, recent reports, confirmed by the BBC, are that if this season suffers the same abysmal viewing figures as the once-great series has suffered since its return in 2023, it’s not going to be returning anytime soon for a third season and rumours also suggest that Gatwa will not be returning as the Doctor and may even have already filmed his final (regeneration) scene.
Returning late 2023, the series brought back David Tennant in order to aid a strong return but sadly, due to terrible writing (among other things, let’s be honest), the viewing figures have been in steady decline ever since, breaking records for lowest ever viewing figures regularly.
Anyway, hope springs eternal and I – as many fans do – will hope that the show returns strong in April but as it is, all excitement, for a show I’ve loved for decades, is sitting at zero.
Thoughts? I know you have them, let me hear them…
