WATCH: First look at Doctor Who: Time Lord Victorious animated series Daleks!

October 10th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Some cool reveals today from the Time Lord Victorious panel at New York Comic Con XMCM (Comic Con Metaverse) today.

We reported a few weeks back on the Daleks! animated series which ties into the Time Lord Victorious multimedia event (here) and today, all the way from the virtual New York Comic Con, we have our first look at the series, including the first trailer.

Daleks! is five ten-minute animated episodes which will appear on the official Doctor Who youtube channel on November 12th

The series will feature Dalek voice star Nicholas Briggs, Joe Sugg, The Sarah Jane Adventure’s Anjli Mohindra and  Holby City’s Ayesha Antoine.

Daleks! sees the Dalek Empire come up against a terrible force. The Daleks, the most feared race in the universe, finally meet their match when they invade the fabled Archive of Islos. What ancient and deadly force lurks inside the greatest library in existence? Soon their home planet Skaro is under attack and the Dalek Emperor is on the run. Can the Daleks defeat their opponent and regain their planet, even with help from an old enemy? Or will this be the end of the Daleks?

Also excitingly is the appearance – for the first time since the First Doctor’s 1965 story The Chase – of the Mechonoids, a robotic alien species from the planet Mechanus and arch-enemies of the Daleks. Only in this story they are unhappy allies of the Daleks.

Returning to live-action Doctor Who for the first time since The Chase in 1965, the Mechonoids have been remodelled for the 21st Century, and form an uneasy alliance with their old foes.

The first episode of Daleks! will premiere exclusively on the Doctor Who YouTube channel from Thursday 12th November .

Daleks! first look:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
