WATCH: First teaser for DC Universe’s Swamp Thing reveals titular character as bad news comes from the production

So, a mixed bag for fans of Swamp Thing and the new streaming service DC Universe.

We have a cool teaser for Swamp Thing – seriously, how comic accurate is the titular character?! – and we also have the revelation that the show has been cut short with the scheduled 13 episodes – currently filming – cut back to just 10.

Star Virginia Madsen posted the image of Swamp Thing on her Instagram with the words: “I’m beyond sad. What a terrible decision. We have been cut to the core by those who have never set foot into the Swamp.”

Why? We don’t know. Rumours are abound that DC Universe is panicking after the reveal of Disney+ last week. Other rumours say the show went over budget.

We reckon we should all just calm down: we know that Titans season 1 had its first season cut back by one episode, so hopefully this is a creative decision and not just a money/panic issue.

Anyway, check out the trailer below.

Swamp Thing arrives on DC Universe on May 31st, 2019.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
