Oh, this looks gooooood…

While I was disillusioned with the last John Wick movie, I do admit to loving the universe of Wick or, as The Continental is subtitled, From the World of John Wick, and, as such, I’ll be a sucker for anything announced that is set in that story.

We’ve had a comic series, a video game on the way, four core John Wick movies and a spin-off movie, Ballerina, in the works but the first of all that to see the light of day will be The Continental TV mini-series.

Loads of new details drop about John Wick TV series The Continental

Based around the iconic assassins’ hotel from Wick movies, the series will see the rise of Winston, played in the movies by Ian McShane and here by Colin Woodell who seems to be doing a great job of embodying the younger version of the character.

The 70s backdrop will give this a cool noirish feel and the soundtrack and sets certainly seem to be capitalising on that and the fights, which I was worried might not live up to the movies, look like they’re going to be as exciting as I hoped.

See you all in front of the telly on September 29th for the first episode!

Peacock gives us the official release dates for John Wick three-part series, The Continental

The three-part event series will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind.

Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.

The Continental: From the World of John Wick is streaming September 2023 on Peacock

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
